Gay rights activists have been claiming that it is discriminatory to criminalize gay sex but:
1. Legalize
private, consensual anal and oral sex between heterosexual adults; and
2. Not criminalize lesbian sex.

I do have my reservations regarding heterosexual couples having oral and anal sex. However, it is fundamentally different from homosexual sex. The sexual union between a male and a female has the potential to be a holy union even though there are heterosexuals who are sexually transgressive. In contrast, a sexual relationship does not at all have the potential to be a proper, morally acceptable relationship. It is not because of oral and anal sex per se that gay sex should be criminalized. In the case of homosexuals, the nature of the sexual relationship (which I cannot even call a union) that is wrong and the very core of the gay person is corrupt. Gay sex is an indication of a persisting perversion of values. Therefore there is more reason to criminalize gay sex. Heterosexual sex may be transgressive at certain points, but the transgressive acts do not indicate any lingering perversion because heterosexuality if fundamentally normal. There may be some lapses of abnormality in heterosexual sex, but these are much more easily corrected. In short, the difference is one between sporadic transgressive acts and a wholly ransgressive being.

While I do not approve of transgressive acts and I urge all heterosexual couples that practice anal and oral sex to stop indulging in such acts, I find it all the more important to correct the homosexual being. This is what others have referred to as the homosexual "lifestyle." It is a lifestyle, a mode of existence, a character trait, because homosexuals do not just engage in acts of transgression. Even when they are not performing oral or anal sex, they are continually sinning. The very nature of their supposed desire is wrong. Until they make a conscious choice to change and succeed in doing so, there is no way they can put themselves into the road of the righteous. With appropriate punishments, we can help gays to stop their homosexual lifestyle and gradually change their beings. A physical punishment of caning (especially one that inflicts pain near the very orifice that once brought them much sinful pleasure) will remind them of the seriousness of their past actions and help to show that what is right. As such, contrary to claims that 377A is archaic, it is clear that 377A is very well thought out and relevant; if it is well-enforced, it will strengthen Singapore society, leading to a more blessed and pure nation.

If we compare gay sex between males to lesbian sex between women, we also see that gay sex is of a more transgressive nature. It is clear that unlike gays, lesbians do not have real penetrative sex with one another, at least not without the help of certain external devices. Without the oral or anal penetration of a phallic organ, the bodies of lesbians are not as defiled as those of gays. If lesbians do resort to the use of external devices, they would really be simulating heterosexual sex and we can tell that they are latently yearning for an authentic heterosexual union. While I do not wish to trivialize the transgressions of lesbians (for all sins are equally sinful), it is clear that they do not deserve as severe an admonition as gays deserve. On the other hand, gays are making use of their bodily endowments to indulge in penetrative sex, which is a trademark of heterosexual unions.

When gays claim that the law is discriminatory because gay sex is criminalized but not lesbian sex or heterosexual anal and oral sex, they are making the mistake of misjudging the severity of their wrongdoings and equating them with other actions. It also reflects the devil's impulse, which is to drag as many people down with them as possible. We know very well that not every immoral or sinful act can be made criminal in a secular state like Singapore. As such, only the most severely immoral acts are defined as criminal. It is like the difference between lying and fraud. We do not demand that the law punishes those who tell their friends lies or make up excuses for being late even though we know that it is extremely bad to do so. However, in cases of fraud, it is clear that the law has to step in to punish offenders because of the severity of their wrongdoings and to protect others in society from them. Given that the most obstinately misguided homosexuals out there are like the more dangerous criminals (they are more like fraudsters than the everyday liar) because the scale of their offense is greater, the law has to punish them. As for lesbians and heterosexual couples who engage in oral and anal sex, it is hoped that proper advice and pressure from members of the community will gradually rehabilitate them.

I do not wish to give the impression that I'm speaking from an elevated moral ground. In fact, all of us are equally susceptible to the penetration of sin. This is a dangerous world and we have to do all we can to protect ourselves, our households and our nation from the decay sin brings about. Today, my daughter brought home a male friend from school and I realized how vulnerable even the innocent young ones are. I saw them holding hands spontaneously. I had to remind them not to act impulsively and to pray before doing so to make sure that the source of their inspiration is right. But not long after, I saw again that the two of them were together in her room unaccompanied. While I'm not a control freak and I need not be around to supervise them, I had to remind the young ones that it was not proper for them to be alone in the same room even with the doors open. I had to advise my daughter to get one of her brothers to be in the room so that there is company. So you see, there is vulnerability everywhere and we have to be vigilant at all times. Set a proper example for the children and they will grow up to honor their community, society, country and religion.

This blog contributes to the debate about whether gay sex should be legalized in Singapore. It is the stance of this blogger that gay sex should never be allowed to become legal.

Already, each time I type the words "gay sex," I feel sinful, firstly for thinking about sex, and secondly for thinking about gay sex in particular (which makes me doubly sinful). It is my belief that all unholy thoughts of sex lead to sin and sin in turn leads to spiritual death. Thus, this already shows that gays and gay activists are poisoning our minds with their call for a repeal of 377A. They know very well that the unerring government will not accede to their atrocious demand, but they have a hidden agenda knowing that their cause is lost. That is the agenda of poisoning our thoughts with thoughts of gay sex. When the devil knew that he could never win God, he, too, resorted to poisoning the thoughts of people with lies. Similarly, gays are fighting their losing battle by poisoning the minds of people through websites, blogs and even forum letters. They capitalize on Singapore's democracy and free press to further their agenda.

It goes without saying that if gays are allowed to continue unhindered, then Singapore will degenerate into a nation whose people are filled with thoughts of one man gently caressing another, of one man kissing another, one man masturbating another and one man inserting his organ of procreation into other men's organs of excretion. What's wrong with that? It is not merely abnormal or a matter of going against the order of nature. It is a parody of the sacred union of man, woman and God. And what has this got to do with legalizing it or not? Firstly, we have to criminalize acts that are clearly wrong. Secondly, we have to stop the parody before it gets out of hand (no pun intended). If we do not stop gays, they will carry their parody out from the bedroom (or cars or toilet cubicles) to the public by insisting on their right to marry. It is already bad enough if they sin privately. It is much worse if they carry their parody to the public domain and start to gain acceptance. Clearly, banning gay sex is not solely a matter of denying gays their carnal, hedonistic pleasures. It is a matter preventing gays from subverting the sacred institution of marriage. If we ever allow gays to get marry, given their promiscuous nature, they will likely divorce, especially because they cannot have children and should never be allowed to adopt. (Why allow an orphan to grow up in a fake family learning to accept gays when they can grow up in a proper, functional family learning the right religious and social values that will perpetuate our current way of life?)

Do not get me wrong. I have nothing against gay people. I am only against gay sex and homosexuality. So-called "gay" people can change and, indeed, many have. "Gay" men are actually not really gay. It is just that they think they are gay when they really are not deep inside them. Homosexuality doesn't really exist as a part of our latent impulses. It is just one of the many manifestations of unholy behavior. But unlike other manifestations of unholy behavior, this particular manifestation has the potential to give the transgressor enough pleasure to continue. The transgressive act simulates the pleasure normal people have from healthy, heterosexual sex leading to procreation. The difference is that the physical pleasure can be duplicated but the spiritual pleasure can never be duplicated because these people are unholy just by virtue of the very act of transgression.

So, as I said, I'm not against gay people. I have a responsibility to love them. And because I love them, I have to be strict with them. I love my 35 children and I will not hesitate to cane them and leave the marks on their hands and legs to shame them because it's for their good. Love comes together with laborious discipline. This is why I am terribly disappointed by the government's relative inaction despite the existence of 377A. Why aren't more gays arrested, caned and jailed? If the government has been willing to do that, we would not be facing so many problems from misguided gay activists today. If they are all in jail nursing the painful strokes of the cane, they would have the space of reflect on their sins and repent. The problem of rampant homosexuality wouldn't be so serious today had the government been able to take action against gays.

I used to have a dog at home but I realized to my horror that it was becoming excessively intimate with other male dogs whenever it was allowed to go outdoors. I must have been too lax with Toby. Homosexuality had penetrated my household! This is my confession. Because I was careless, I had allowed sin to creep into my house stealthily. But I took immediate action. I locked Toby up and caned it. I brought home a pretty female dog to be his companion. I tried to get Toby to be "friendly" with Mandy. Each time it was friendly with Mandy, I would reward it with good food. Eventually, Mandy was impregnated through artificial insemination and now Toby and Mandy are living happily with their 12 puppies. I managed to convert my gay dog into a straight dog and cleanse my house of the terrible sin of homosexuality.

Brothers and sisters, in this decadent age, none of us is immune to the penetration of sin into our households or into our beings. But we can actively strive to be holy and do what is right. We have to love gays, but we cannot let our sympathy get the better of us. True love is the ability to discipline. If you claim to love homosexuals but refuse to jail and cane them, then you are being a hypocrite!

Let us end with one determination. Our thoughts have inevitably strayed from holy thoughts to thoughts about gay sex. It is inevitable but we still have to cleanse our minds. May we be determined to rid homosexuals from our thoughts. Brothers, don't be deceived by the seeming beauty of a taut male body with rippling muscles. Sisters, do not be deceived by the seeming beauty of a slender female body with soft, round breasts. Fill your minds with holy thoughts. Think of LOVE and how you can discipline those you love and bring them to the right path. Think, for instance, of the people here: http://repeal377a.com/
